1. Third party evaluation of Enhanced Nutrition Support - Maternal and Child Health During COVID-19 (2021-2022)
A comprehensive end of project third party evaluation of emergency nutrition services in provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during COVID-19. During COVID-19, despite the closure of healthcare outlets and suspension of services, the project aimed to ensure that pregnant women and children received life-saving nutrition care and supplements. The evaluation recommended essential service enhancements, mitigating malnutrition risks and improving healthcare accessibility amid the pandemic.
2. Development of National Anaemia Guidelines, Pakistan (2023-2024)
The assignment entailed development of Pakistan’s National Anaemia Guidelines, integrating evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies and through employing existing healthcare frameworks. Consultations were conducted with all provinces/regions and at the Federal level with health program managers, policy makers, government counterparts, UN partners and development agencies across nearly one-year consultative process. These guidelines are understood to be the reference document for anemia management through a life cycle approach, with the aim to combat anaemia, particularly among women and children.
3. Readiness assessment of health system for Vitamin A Supplementation in the Post-National Immunization Days in Pakistan (2024)
To explore various pathways for biannual Vitamin A supplementation in the post national immunization days scenario, PRIME Consulting conducted a comprehensive and multi-faceted feasibility study and readiness assessment for Pakistan healthcare landscape. The study identified EPI, Lady Health Worker networks, and Mother-Child Weeks as the most feasible avenues of biannual Vitamin A supplementation.
4. Evaluation of WHO’s Family Practice Approach - Strengthening Primary Healthcare (2022-2023)
A comprehensive review and assessment of the WHO’s Family Practice Approach in Universal Health Coverage districts of Pakistan was undertaken to, identify strengths/gaps and enablers in Family Practice Approach based service delivery. The study urged stronger public-private collaboration and improvements in Basic Health Unit infrastructure to enhance healthcare accessibility.
5. Programme Review – Expanded Programme on Immunization, Pakistan (2024)
PRIME Consulting’s managed the Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), programmatic review 2024, on behalf of WHO Pakistan country office. The review underscored the need to expand outreach, bolster public-private partnerships, and address logistical bottlenecks, ensuring effective vaccine distribution and greater immunization coverage nationwide.
6. Health Information Systems Assessment for Primary healthcare Consortium (2023-2024)
On behalf of the Aga Khan University’s, led Primary Healthcare (PHC) Consortium of Pakistan PRIME Consulting analyzed Pakistan’s the landscape of health and management information systems across all provinces and regions of the country. The assessment that employed digital technology deployment as well as routine and non-routine information sources, highlighted the deficiencies in data management and interoperability. The study recommended digital transformation, system integration, and governance enhancements to support evidence-based decision-making across national and provincial health networks.
7. Sindh Immunization mCCT’s Evaluation Research Project (2023-2024)
On behalf of Interactive research and Development (IRD), Pakistan, a mapping-listing of more than 50,000 households and detailed survey of more than 10,000 households was conducted in Karachi East and Qambar Shahdadkot districts of Sindh province. The study analysed immunization rates among 10,039 households, and various economic and other pertinent factors influencing vaccine access. The findings provided crucial insights for policy interventions aimed at achieving equitable immunization coverage.
8. Evaluation of Indus Hospital’s Healthcare Network’s (IHHN) Primary Health Care Programme (PCP) for Service Delivery, Health Care Providers, Health Facilities, Community out-reach and Client satisfaction (2022-2023)
PRIME Consulting’s assessment of Indus Hospital’s Primary Healthcare Programme examined service delivery in static and mobile clinics across three provinces of Pakistan. Recommendations focused on enhancing governance, optimizing resources, developing the workforce, and scaling digital health reporting for long-term sustainability.
9. Independent Evaluation of i-Check Connect Beta Testing for Vitamin A and D fortification (2022)
Evaluation of Nutrition International’s Pakistan’s I-Check Connect Beta device-based pilot programme for Vitamin A fortification in edible oil explored the feasibility, useability, adequacy, accuracy, reliability/consistency and sustainability dimensions of the iCheck connect device and its acceptability in the edible oil manufacturing sector of Pakistan. The study emphasized the need for improved quality control, local distributor engagement, and equipment maintenance for sustainable implementation.
10. Baseline Study for Scale-up of Male Engagement in Family Planning Program- Integration of Male Health workers and service providers in FP Eco system in 5 districts of Punjab (2024-2025)
PRIME Consulting is conducting a baseline study in Punjab to evaluate male participation in family planning initiatives. Findings from surveys and focus groups will inform strategies to integrate male health workers and enhance reproductive healthcare programmes.
11. A Cross-sectional survey study for Nutrition International Zinc programs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab and Sindh provinces of Pakistan using NIMS toolkit (2024-2025)
PRIME Consulting is leading a nationwide study on Zinc and ORS usage for diarrhoea treatment across Sindh, Punjab, and KP. Covering 5,500 households, the study examines caregiver knowledge and healthcare provider practices to strengthen treatment adherence and health outcomes.
